We Are Triumphant
(I thought I could do a bit better on this review, but I’m kinda at a loss for words at the moment. This band just kicks so much ass.)
Okay, so, you actually might NOT want to turn your speakers all the way up to this band, because i’m afraid this EP will actually break your headphones/speakers. This band, is the definition of going HARD. All six songs on the Start/End EP just sound angry as hell, and I know the next time I get pissed as hell at someone, I’ll let this band be the fuel to that anger.
The first song I ever heard from these guys was “Apex.” Right off the bat, it’s right in your face with speaker-blowing sound. The guitar could be in Drop Z, I swear to god. That stuff is low and heavy and metal as f**k. The breakdowns in this song, go so hard and so slow, like, I’m putting these guys at the top of my list for breakdowns that sound evil as hell. And frankly I think that’s what they want you to believe. The combination of the guitar tone, the heavy drumming, and the screaming vocals, could classify this band as demonic.
The one thing I can say above all for this band, after giving Start/End a few listens through, no song sounds exactly like the other. These guys bring something new to the table, styles and sorts of complexities that just make me listen to the songs over and over. Like I said, I’m not a professional at this stuff, so I’m having difficulty finding the words to describe exactly what I mean, but I promise if you listen to the EP you’ll understand where i’m coming from. It’s heavy the whole damn way through, with fancy little riffs inbetween all those huge-ass chugs.
Excuse my lack of being able to explain guitar in songs. I’m a drummer, not a guitarist. But i’ll do my best, aha.
While listening to “Beggars”, about two and half minutes in, it becomes beautiful for a moment, the lead guitar takes center stage with a flowing riff, a little break from being so bloody angry. Doesn’t last for too long, and then its right back into emphasizing the word “fuck” to show that these guys mean business. Isn’t that true though? When a band incorporates curses into their lyrics, you pay more attention. Atleast that’s me.
These guys have a full length on the way, and you can hit these guys up on their Facebook page, and download their EP for free right here —> http://www.mediafire.com/?1b59cva40eo2gr1
